One evening I saw what looked to be a large dog run across the park where my youngest was practicing soccer with his team. This dog-like creature was running at a speed which was worthy of awe tinged with a drop of fear because instinctively you knew you couldn’t outrun it if you were Usain Bolt on speed.
The grace and beauty of this animal betrayed it’s true identity. It was a coyote leaving the backyard of one home to cross the populated field for refuge in another. A parent demanded that the animal control be called, but the park employee revealed that nothing comes of that call. It was advised that everyone stayed put and hoped the predator could find some other prey.
People are like that coyote.
